is it more painful to have a tattoo with more fat or less fat?

Loc T asked:

i want to get a tattoo on my stomach. is it more painful if there is less fat or more fat on there? i was planning on working on my abs but i thought i would wait until after i get the tattoo. figured it would be less painful. i have a little chubbby belly right now

personally I would wait and then get the Tat when you lose the weight, I’ve had tatts on the meatier areas and its better over muscle than fat, bones hurt the most ie ribs! Also you should get tats in the fall, when a tat is healing you dont want to get any sun exposure it breaks down the ink, so if you get it in the fall it will give it the most time away from the sun and keep it looking good longer.
