less fat cuz 98% of excess fat is stored as fat..but 70% of excess carbs are thru digestion so to over eat u wanna eat proteins or carbs..fruits are carbs so carbs can be good just lay off the brownies and ice cream you know..but u need fats in ur diet and lots of protein make 40% of ur cals protein 40% carbs (1/2 of them being fruit) and 10%fat 10% vege its a great balanced diet

A nutritionally balanced diet including some carbs and some fats is best, whether you’re gaining weight or losing weight or just maintaining. The way to lose weight is chart the balanced diet in terms of calories to get a baseline on your “normal” diet, and then see where you can cut CALORIES and still get your nutritional needs met. People are often surprised to find that their excess calories come from too much protein and not from too much carbs or fats (not everyone, but everyone’s normal diet is different, and the “fix” for weight gain lies in knowing where YOUR excess calories are coming from). All foods and drinks, except water, contain calories, so you need to understand what you’re putting into your mouth in total, and not just blindly reduce or eliminate one category. That’s what I call being “part smart”. If you find that you are consuming more carbs or fats than you need nutritionally then that’s what you reduce, but you can’t know the answer to your question until you understand your own diet and what’s coming from where. There is no “blanket” answer to this question, and anyone who gives you one is not taking into consideration that they have no clue about what baseline you’re working from to reduce either category you’ve listed.
Plus, diet alone doesn’t give lasting weight loss. Diet + added activity that burns body fat is what does it. Losing weight by reducing calories only just encourages weight gain when you return to “normal” eating.

Fastest Way to Lose Weight
It’s not chosing between carbs and fats, rather chosing the right kind of each.
For fats, you want to eat unsaturated fats that are found naturally in nuts. The other healthy one is omega-3 fatty acids found in fish. Both of these are required to maintain healthy bodily function and will actually help you lose the bad, stored fat
For carbs, you want to eat ones from whole grain foods and other sources that contain naturally found complex carbs. These are the ones full of nutrients and are low on the glycemic index, thus having a minimal impact on your blood sugar levels and take longer to digest. Refined carbs from sugar, white bread, and flour are stripped of nutrients and as a result are either used right away or stored as fat.
